Dr. Richard K. Gaines graduated with his Bachelor of Pre-Medicine Degree from Davidson College and with his Medical Degree from the University of Florida. He completed his General Surgery Internship and Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Emory University Affiliated Hospitals in Atlanta. Dr. Gaines also completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship at the University of Miami and has been in practice in Volusia County since 1992. Dr. Gaines has served as a team physician for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, the Daytona Beach Cubs and Seabreeze High School. Dr. Gaines has also served as a clinical instructor for the Halifax Family Practice Residency Program, Nova Southeastern Physician Assistant Program and the Florida State University College of Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (Fellow), American College of Surgeons (Fellow), Florida Medical Association, Volusia County Medical Society, Southern Orthopedic Association and the Florida Orthopedic Society.
