Board Certified Ophthalmologist

Dr. Cole, born and raised in Indiana, attended Purdue University for his undergraduate education where he graduated with Highest Distinction in Biochemistry, completing both the Honors Biochemistry Curriculum and an Honors Biochemistry Research Thesis. After graduation and interning at Eli Lilly & Company, Dr. Cole was employed as a biochemist for Amgen, Inc. in Thousand Oaks, CA for four years before returning to medical School. Dr. Cole received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. While there also participated in research involving ocular blood flow and it’s relationship to Glaucoma. After completing a general medicine internship year at St. Vincent’s Hospitals of Indianapolis, Dr. Cole completed his ophthalmology surgical residency at Indiana University School of Medicine. Before leaving Indianapolis, Dr. Cole also served as Chief of Ophthalmology at Community Hospitals in Indianapolis and was a volunteer Assistant Professor of ophthalmology at Indiana University, teaching surgery to future ophthalmologist as well.

Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology,Dr. Cole is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ASCRS).

Dr Cole has been performing cataract surgeries in the professional environment since 2006 and is experience with multiple lens implantation techniques including standard as well as advanced technology Toric and Multifocal lens implants. Dr. Cole’s surgeries also involve the “no stitch, no injection, no patch” techniques as well as the newest in LASER assisted cataract surgery technologies.

In addition to cataract surgery, Dr. Cole is also experienced at Glaucoma treatment (both medical and LASER), Diabetes care, Dry Eye Disease, Macular Degeneration and many other LASER procedures and comprehensive ophthalmology procedures.

In his leisure time, Dr. Cole enjoys spending time with his family, friends and dogs, travel, the arts and exploring nature in his new home of Florida.
